Frequently Asked Questions

I need to cancel my mini session spot because someone is sick/unhappy/can't come. Can I get a refund or a raincheck?

Beginning in 2023, all fees associated with mini sessions (including deposits and any balance paid) are considered non-refundable unless the event is canceled by the photographer. No rainchecks or credits will be extended if the client cancels, absolutely no exceptions. Through the years I've been extremely flexible with rescheduling when clients can't make it to a mini at the last minute for various reasons, however, this situation puts me in a tough position. Location rental fees have already been paid, as well as other supplies and assistants I might need for our shoot, making a refund very inconvenient. On the other hand, when extending a raincheck and meeting on a different date, driving to one 15-20 minute make-up session is cost ineffective when considering the expense and time it takes to travel roundtrip. Given these circumstances, I cannot issue refunds on any mini session fees that have been paid unless 1) the location cancels us, or 2) the weather prevents our session from taking place. If for any reason I must cancel a mini session, all fees will be promptly refunded.

We love your work, but can't afford a professional. Will you volunteer?

If you have an exceptional circumstance, I'm open to hearing more about it. However, I typically do not provide professional event coverage for free or deeply discounted rates when other vendors are being paid.

Do you offer family/senior sessions?

I'm happy to do family, senior, or themed sessions! My style is casual and organic, probably not the best fit for a client who desires a more traditionally posed final result. If you're up for a relaxed experience with movement, play, and authentic expressions, shoot me an email at or visit the Private Session Booking page to schedule. Sessions for personal use start at $400 for a 1-hour shoot. Current gallery turnaround for personal sessions is 1-2 weeks.

Can you offer minis at our location?

Yes, I can offer mini sessions to your clients and customers. Contact me today for more information. Please provide details about your organization and your vision for the mini session event.

When will I receive my images?

Turnaround time for most events is within 5 business days, but can be expedited if necessary to meet press or announcement deadlines.

Do you like mac & cheese and Starbucks?

Are you even a photographer if you don't like mac & cheese and Starbucks?

What is your cancelation policy?

One-time events and special projects require a 25% non-refundable deposit to hold the date. Established, recurring clients (partners) are given flexibility and generally not required to do a deposit.

Do I have to order prints?

All images are delivered via online gallery. You can print where you like, but for convenience there is a print shop integrated into your gallery. I strongly suggest using a high-quality image printing service for your files. Never print at a drug store or big box store.

Can our organization use your images of LeBauer and Center City Parks in our publication/website/brochures??

The rights to all of my images of LeBauer and Center City Parks are shared with GDPI. Usage licenses for most of the images in our catalog are available for sale. Email me at for a link to our stock gallery, as well as a price list and licensing agreement to review.

How do we pay you?

Your deposit and balance can be paid via check, Venmo (@HappyLabs), or major credit card.

Can I book a mini/headshot/event session and use it for something other than what I booked?

Please disclose your goals for the session ahead of time. If you book a headshot, mini, or event session, the session will be what you purchased. Do not book a headshot session with the intention of it being senior session, or a 10 minute mini session for one child with the intention of including additional family, etc., as they are very different prices, equipment, and lengths of time. No surprises, please. ;)

Do you sell proofs?

Yes. For private family sessions only, I'm not opposed to selling the proofs, as long as it's understood that proofs should never be posted to social media as an example of my work. Proofs are considered to be an unfinished product because they are not edited. Occasionally parents (and grandparents!) want to hold onto all of the images, no matter how imperfect, as a memento of their child's precious years. Proof galleries start at $300; prices vary based on the number of images in the gallery.
