Little Deer Studio is a new portrait concept for children who are sitting independently through age 10. Beautiful natural light on rustic brick walls and wood floors create a soft, joyful space for kids to twirl, jump, and play. There are no wires to trip over, no scary strobes or continual hot lights. Sessions are largely child-led and tailored to their interest. Best of all, there are NO hidden costs. All packages includes the session fee and a generous number of digitals. You will never be pressured to purchase more than you've already budgeted for.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why a 40 minute session?
Being in front of a camera and taking direction is hard work! I've found the 40 minute mark to be the limit for most kids. A 40 minute session will give parents a good size proof gallery and happier kiddos.
Can more than one child take part in the shoot?
Package rates are based on one child being photographed. Siblings can be included in the session for $30/child. Adding children to the session does not increase the stated session time. If you would like additional time, you must book two sessions back-to-back.
Can we purchase additional poses?
Yes. Additional poses are available a la cart for $20 + tax per image.
Where is the studio located?
Little Deer Studio is located in Graham, NC, conveniently located between the Triad and Triangle.
When do I pay for my session?
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking to hold your spot and will be applied to your final total. Your balance is due when you select your images from the proof gallery. Completed images will not be released until the balance is paid in full.
How are Simple Whimsy and Modern School Portraits different?
Simple Whimsy sessions give children more time to twirl, jump, and play. The session is largely child-led and tailored to their interests. During a Modern School Portrait session, children will be sitting most of the time. Because the session is shorter, we move quickly to get a variety of posed images.
Can parents be in the photos?
Yes! Parents are encouraged to jump in the shot at anytime. There is no additional charge for parents. If you're planning to jump in, feel free to bring an outfit to change into.
How should we dress?
Little Deer sessions work best with soft pastels, neutrals, and basic primary colors. Think pinks, blues, khaki, soft greens, yellows, denim, white, cream, red, and gray. Siblings posing together should be color coordinated. Layers are great and make the photo more interesting. Absolutely no graphics or words on shirts; no super brights or fluorescents.
What if I need to cancel?
Life with kids is unpredictable. You're welcome to take advantage of a one-time reschedule opportunity if your child is ill on the day of your shoot. If you do not fulfill your RESCHEDULED date, your deposit will be forfeited. Deposits are considered non-refundable, but will be returned in the event the photographer must cancel the session.
